Information we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, sign up for our emails or texts, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, order details, and any message you send us. Payments are processed securely by Shopify Payments and our payment partners. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we and our partners collect device and usage information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies: your IP address, browser type, device, approximate location, time zone, pages and products viewed, search terms, items added to your cart, and the page that referred you.

How we use your information

  • To process and ship your orders, arrange local pickup, and send order confirmations and tracking.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your questions.
  • To send you emails or texts about new products, seasonal collections, and offers, if you have chosen to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To measure how the Site is used and improve it.
  • To show you relevant TAWDI ads on other websites and social platforms.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and protect the security of our Site.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information for money. We share it with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed for the purposes above:

  • Shopify hosts our store and processes orders and payments (Shopify Privacy Policy).
  • Klaviyo sends our marketing emails and texts.
  • Shipping carriers, such as UPS, deliver your orders and receive your name, address, and contact details for delivery.
  • Google provides Google Analytics and Google Ads (Google Privacy Policy).
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) provides our advertising pixel and ads (Meta Privacy Policy).
  • Review and app providers that display customer reviews and support Site features.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a lawful request, or to protect our rights, customers, or Site.

Advertising and analytics

We use the Meta pixel, Google Ads, and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Site and to show TAWDI ads to people who may be interested in our chocolates. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on our Site, such as pages viewed, items added to cart, and purchases. Under California law, sharing information this way for advertising may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out as described below.

Cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the Site may not work properly without them. Marketing emails and texts

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message. For texts, reply STOP. We will still send you order and shipping messages related to your purchases.

  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct or delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.

How long we keep information

We keep order and account information for as long as needed to fulfill orders, meet tax and legal requirements, and resolve disputes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner and we are able to.

Children

Our Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and Shopify encrypts payment details. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
